For the past 7 years, Sarah Hetue Hill has led Ascension Health’s Palliative Care Initiative, overseeing strategic development and planning for palliative care for their system of over 130 hospitals and hundreds of other facilities. Sarah’s MA is in health care ethics and health communication and she is currently working on completing her dissertation for her PhD in Health Care Ethics which will be on perinatal palliative care ethics. She has spoken at several conferences on both ethics and palliative care, including the annual CHA Assembly, the Supportive Care Coalition Congress, the American Society on Aging annual conference, and the Center to Advance Palliative Care annual conference.In 2013, Sarah Hill sat on the National Quality Forum’s Metrics Committee on Palliative and End of Life Care and oversaw her own system’s quality measurement in palliative care. She also is an executive committee member of the Supportive Care Coalition’s Board of Directors. Additionally she sat on the Quality, Advocacy, and Ethics Committees of this board. Sarah has published articles in Health Progress and the Supportive Voice on palliative care.
