Sean Michael Reed

Sean M. Reed is a palliative care and aging research fellow in the School of Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. An advanced practice nurse in adult health, and hospice and palliative care, he is also adjunct faculty at the University of Colorado, College of Nursing. Dr. Reed’s areas of specialization are palliative care program development in the acute, post-acute and ambulatory settings; systems leadership and policy; business and quality measurement; and education. As a nurse researcher, Dr. Reed’s interests include healthcare econometrics, alternative reimbursement simulation, big data, and cohort phenotyping. He has served on several local/regional boards for non-profit organizations and is the current secretary/treasurer for the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists. Prior to entering the profession of nursing, he had a career in leadership and information systems at bigg’s Hypermarket, a subsidiary of SuperValu.
