Bridges Palliative Care Program

Kathy Perko, RN, MS, PPCNP-BC, CPON, CHPPN, CPLC received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Portland and Master of Science from the University of California San Francisco. She is a pediatric nurse practitioner and the founder and Program Director of Bridges Palliative Care at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, OR. In her role as Program Director of the Bridges Program, she and their interdisciplinary team meet with families throughout the palliative care process-from diagnosis through the end of life. She has been instrumental in offering families a choice to receive palliative and hospice care at home by engaging with community partners. Her innovative approach to educating and providing on-going support to adult hospice teams in rural communities to care for children has allowed families a choice of where to receive care.
